About us

Blakestown Mountview Youth Initiative (BMYI) was established in 1998. BMYI is a non-profit registered charity organisation, with the aim to support young people and their families in the Dublin 15 community to reach their full potential. BMYI is funded through the HSE, Blanchardstown Local Drug Alcohol Task Force (BLDATF) and TUSLA Child & Family Agency. 

BMYI provides a 3-strand approach, youth, family and educational support. BMYI deliver a range of evidence based programmes to support the well-being and development of young people and their families. 

BMYI offers a holistic approach to support young people, their families and the wider community, through individualised support programmes, group work, a variety of non-formal educational approaches and interventions. The work of BMYI is underpinned by principles of empowerment, inclusion, equality and voluntary participation.

Youth Development

Youth Development  focuses on providing opportunities to empower young people to reach their full potential though a variety of initiatives and interventions to promote critical, social, personal and emotional development.

This is done through, 1:1 support, group work and outreach.

Family Support

Family Support

BMYI provides a space for families to engage in a range of evidence based programmes and activities that strengthen family cohesion and positive community engagement. BMYI prioritises inclusion to those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged experiencing or, at risk of addiction. This is facilitated through 1:1 Support Group work and evidence based programmes and interventions.

BMYI provides support to empower young people and their families to reach their unique potential and develop thir skills and capacity . This is achieved through 1:1 individual tailored interventions  & group work. The focus of our interventions  are underpinned by education and development of key life skills, to support young people and their families to thrive in all aspects of their lives.

Education

Education

Educational supports targets young people at risk of early school leaving, school refusals or young people who require additional educational support. All programmes can be provided through groupwork or in a 1-1 setting. BMYI provides a collaborative approach with other local educational stakeholders to identify supports that compliment their educational experience.
